The 15 Peaks Challenge

The 15 Peaks is a route of 26 miles from the top of Snowdon (Wales) to Foel Fras, including some 14,000ft of ascent and fifteen summits. To complete the route within 24 hours walking requires an early start and lots of stamina. This site is going to log our training programme and eventual attempt at the challenge in June 2005. We are a group of guys from St.Barnabas Church, who want to get fit, have some fun and raise some serious cash for a local youth and children's charity. COME ON!

At this stage conditions seemed quite tough, but they got worse. The near white out at the top forced us down after just one mountain not the intended 5, still we learnt alot about the mountains.

Next Week's Hike

Idwal Cottage is booked, sadly no bar at this YHA so we might have to provide our own. The intention is that on Friday we will achieve the middle section of the 15 Peaks which is the 5 mountains Elidr Fawr, Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach and Tryfan. Part of the walk is described here. Let's hope the weather is good.
